Article requirements

THE PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING MATERIALS TO THE JOURNAL «BULLETIN OF THE ACADEMY OF JUSTICE» AND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTICLES

The journal Bulletin of the Academy of Justice accepts previously unpublished scientific articles with research novelty, containing up-to-date information, and information on research results in various fields of jurisprudence.

A scientific article must comply with the requirements approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 12, 2016 (registered on March 4, 2016 No. 13409 with subsequent amendments and additions) "A scientific article is a statement of one's own conclusions and interim or final results of scientific research, experimental or analytical activities, containing author's developments, conclusions, recommendations previously unpublished and new; or devoted to the review of previously published scientific articles related to a common topic (systematic review). The structure of a scientific article includes the title, annotations, keywords, main provisions, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, information on financing (if available), and a list of references."

Materials submitted for publication must meet the following requirements:

  1. Materials submitted for publication should contain new scientific research and reflect current issues arising in various branches of legal science and practice. When submitting an article and other materials for publication, the author is obliged to inform the editorial board of the journal whether they have been published or submitted to other publications.

The material proposed for publication must be original, not previously published. No more than one single author's article and one co-authored article are accepted for publication in an issue at the same time.

Students' papers are not accepted. Articles by undergraduates and doctoral students are published if there is a positive review by the supervisor. The editorial board of the scientific journal reserves the right to select articles for publication. Selection criteria: scientific and practical significance and compliance with design requirements.

2.The structure of a scientific article should include:

  • title,
  • annotation,
  • keywords,
  • main provisions,
  • introduction,
  • materials and methods,
  • results,
  • discussion,
  • conclusion.

The text of the article should be carefully proofread and signed by the author(s), who is responsible for the originality of the research and the scientific and theoretical level of the published material. The scientific article signed by the author is provided to the Editorial Board in electronic form.

Requirements for the design of the article text:

  1. The text of the article is formatted in Microsoft Word format with a volume of 10 to 15 pages, Times New Roman font, size 14, in one interval, line spacing — single, formatting — width, paragraph indentation — 1 cm, margins: right, left, top, bottom — 2.0 cm, without page numbering, without hyphenation. Articles of more than 15 pages are allowed to be printed with the approval of the editor-in-chief.
  2. A scientific article should contain:
  • UDC (Universal Decimal Classifier);
  • Title of the article (in Kazakh, Russian and English);
  • annotation (summary of the work, conclusions, no less than 200 to 250 words) (in Kazakh, Russian and English languages);
  • keywords (at least 8 words) (in Kazakh, Russian and English);
  • bibliographic list (at least 5);
  • bibliographic references designed in accordance with GOST "Bibliographic reference".

References to sources are given in the text of the article in square brackets and are made in the form of the number of the corresponding bibliographic reference to the source given in the "Literature" list, indicating the page if necessary, for example: [9, p. 12].

In text links containing references to several source numbers, the latter are separated from each other by a semicolon, for example: [7; 19, p. 45; 37, p. 201]. References to the sources of publication of the cited statistical data and regulations, including international and foreign ones, are mandatory.

At the end of the article, a list of the main scientific literature on this topic is given, including the latest (in the original language and separately in Latin transliteration). When linking to Internet resources, the author, the title of the text, the website/portal, the full email address of the material, and the date of its opening are indicated.

At the end of the article there should be an entry: "the article is being published for the first time, has not been submitted and will not be submitted to other publications," the date and signature of the author(s) should be put. Information about the author(s) is also included here: full name, e-mail address, contact phone numbers.

  1. Information about the authors should be filled in in Kazakh, Russian, and English and should contain the following information:
  • Last name, First name, Patronymic (in full);
  • position;
  • academic title, academic degree;
  • place of work (full name of the institution that the author represents);
  • city, country;
  • contact information (phone, e-mail) of the author(s).
  1. If the number of authors is 2 or more, the author's last name for correspondence is marked with an asterisk, indicating in the footnote that this person is the author for correspondence.
  2. The title of the article should be written in capital bold letters and centered.
  3. The annotation is drawn up after the title of the article, the annotation length is 200-250 words.
  4. Keywords are text labels by which you can find an article when searching the Internet, as well as determine the subject area of the text. The number of keywords must be at least 8, and they must be written in three languages (Russian, Kazakh, and English).
  5. The article should contain footnotes to the literature, arranged according to the list in square brackets. The numbering is carried out as the citation is carried out. Electronic resources that do not identify the author of the material, statistical collections, and regulatory legal acts are indicated in page-by-page footnotes and are not included in the list of references. When quoting a source again, it is assigned the number of the original citation.

The literature lists are also written in Latin letters (References). On the website http://translit.ru. A program for transliterating the Russian language into Latin is available. Self-citation of the author is allowed for no more than 20% of the number of sources in the list of references. References to unpublished works are not allowed.

Documents attached to the article:

  1. Application signed by the author (application for publication);
  2. Authors who do not have an academic degree should send a scanned copy of the review, signed by the supervisor/consultant and stamped by the institution. If materials are submitted for publication by judges without an academic degree, they are placed in the "Judicial Practice" section without a review by the supervisor, but after a blind review procedure and verification for the presence or absence of plagiarism. At the same time, articles in this category in the current issue should not exceed 10% of the total number of materials.

The text, designed in accordance with the rules of the article design, is uploaded to the System.

The selection of materials for the current issue is determined by the Editorial Board of the journal in accordance with editorial plans.

Articles are accepted for consideration in strict compliance with the requirements for published articles and the availability of all accompanying documents.
