Abstract

Imprisonment is considered the most severe punishment for committing a crime worldwide. Conditional early release (hereinafter referred to as UDO) from further serving of a sentence in the form of deprivation of liberty is a complex legal institution, an act of trust of the state to the convicted person, who has shown by his behavior that he does not need to serve the sentence in full, and this is an encouragement to the convicted person to continue lawabiding behavior. The article is devoted to the consideration of problematic issues of legislative regulation and practice of the application of conditional early release from punishment.
