Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of large-scale reforms implemented in the Republic of Uzbekistan within the judicial and legal system. The authors examine the changes in civil procedural legislation as an essential step toward building a democratic rule-of-law state and a strong civil society. Statistical data on court workload and the number of cases handled are presented. The article identifies key problems and systemic barriers in the field and proposes optimal solutions. Particular attention is paid to improving access to justice, enhancing the quality of judicial decisions, and developing pre-trial dispute resolution mechanisms. Alternative dispute resolution procedures are highlighted as a promising direction for future legal reforms.
