Abstract

The article explores relevant theoretical and legal issues concerning the functions of the modern state. The author provides an in-depth analysis of the essence and content of state functions amid the transformation of social relations and the increasing complexity of governmental mechanisms. The concept of the state is examined through the lens of its functions, with particular emphasis on their characteristics, classification, and implementation features. Special attention is given to the distinction and interrelation between the functions of the state and those of state bodies. Legislative, executive (law-enforcement), and judicial functions are thoroughly analyzed. The findings and recommendations may be applied in public administration practices and in the development of effective state policy.
