Abstract

The article examines the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the judicial system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, focusing on their application in the selection and training of judges. Foreign approaches to the use of intelligent systems in the administration of justice are analyzed, including from the perspective of permissible limits of their operation and safeguarding the independence of the judiciary. Particular attention is given to the institutional and legal characteristics of Kazakhstan that justify the necessity of a functional application of artificial intelligence primarily within educational and analytical spheres, while strictly excluding its participation in judicial decision-making. Legislative amendments are proposed to establish a statutory framework for using intelligent systems within the operations of the Supreme Judicial Council. The authors conclude that a phased and limited implementation of artificial intelligence is appropriate, provided that the principles of legality, transparency, and judicial independence are strictly observed.
