Abstract

The article examines the international legal and national legal foundations of
countering cybercrime. The author’s analysis of national cybercrime legislation is based on a review
of legislation governing the digital environment in a positive manner. In the result of the study, the
author identifies the causes of instability of the regulatory framework governing information and
communication technologies, demonstrates the advantages of codifying informatization legislation,
groups cybercrimes in the national criminal legislation depending on the ways and directions of
harmful effects, comments critically on the established practice of classifying traditional crimes
committed through telecommunications networks, predicts the prospects for ensuring cybersecurity
through cybercrime legislation.
