Abstract

This article examines the prospects for adapting the idea of the ancient Chinese commander and philosopher Sun Tzu to the needs of law enforcement. Despite the apparent differences between military affairs and criminal justice, many of their main areas have much in common. First of all, this concerns the effective organization of law
enforcement agencies of our country in the context of dynamic changes in the forms and methods of modern criminal activity. Taking into account the ideas of Sun Tzu, an attempt has been made to propose an alternative model of combating crime. It is primarily aimed not at criminal prosecution, but at influencing the complex of causes and conditions that contribute to the constant reproduction of offenses. To do this, a non-linear approach to
combating crime using modern information technologies is considered.
